Ethel
Ethel
Is the happiest dog in the world despite her tough beginning. Ethel was used to root wildlife out of underground sets & earths and so has a lot of scarring to her head and face, including her bottom lip that was torn off.
All of this said, in true lurcher style she holds no grudges and loves her humans implicitly.
Her missing bottom lip does not hold her back with food or drinking. She has been in foster for a few months and these are the things we have learned about her…. She enjoys toys but they must be strong as she can tear soft toys. She is very food orientated so while foster Mam eats she is crated. She has never counter surfed but foster Mam is good to keep things hidden away from any long noses! She sleeps in foster Mams room at night and sleeps soundly.
Ethel travels great in the car in her crate and is great on the lead, she can be excited at first but then settles well.
She is house trained but is not good at telling you when she needs to go out so it’s good to be on top of taking her out.
She thrives on routine like all dogs and has learned to be a good girl when her human leaves the apartment for a few hours. She has never been destructive.
She can bark a little but settles down.
Ethel can live in the country or the city, house or apartment as long as she gets 2 walks a day.
She would need to be in a home With no children and due to her past, no other dogs or pets.
Ethel has mixed perfectly with other dogs during her time in foster but she always wears her pretty muzzle that was especially made for her and it will be sent to her new home with her. We recommend that she wear it when interacting with other dogs and on her walks.
She is trained to wear it and it’s so pretty it’s more a fashion statement now!
Ethel really is a joy and it is lucky the person will be to adopt her.
Ethel is in a foster home in Ireland.
